Michelle Jund - Immanuel Lutheran School Principal

michelle

I have been a part of Immanuel Lutheran School since 2000.  I began my career teaching preschool two afternoons a week.  I have taught kindergarten, second, fourth, fifth and sixth grade as well and then in 2006 became the principal.  I’m excited to be a part of our ministry at Immanuel and look forward to the challenges and successes we continue to face.

I have a BA in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.  Since I graduated from Boise State I’m a huge Bronco Fan!  I taught in public for six years. My time was spent in the Jerome and Twin Falls School District.  I enjoy teaching and seeing the faces of students when they comprehend a concept or have an idea.

My husband and I were married at Immanuel Lutheran and have been members for many years.   I have been involved with various activities at the church, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and served on boards. I enjoy being involved in our church and the relationships I have developed over the years.

We have three children; Mallory, Kelley, and Josh, who are married and have wonderful spouses who love the Lord.  We have  5 grandchildren who keep us busy. We spend a lot of time in Boise with the grandchildren. We also enjoy golfing, hiking, and kayaking.

Being able to see your children grow not only academically but spiritually has been very rewarding over the years.  I know the students who attend Immanuel have a great love for their Lord and Savior.  There is no better place then Immanuel to begin your child’s educational journey.

 Ms. Schmidt - First Grade

vickieI'm very excited to be a part of the ILS family as one of the First Grade teachers for the 2022 -2023 school year.

I am originally from Buhl. I attended school at Clover Trinity Lutheran School and then moved to Buhl High School where I graduated from. I attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska where I received my BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I took my first call to teach at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Child Development Center in Mountain View, California were I taught both preschool and kindergarten. I later took a call to serve at Littlest Angels Preschool and Bethany Lutheran Church in Menlo Park, California where I taught pre-kindergarten as well as served in many other ministries within the church. I returned to the Magic Valley in 2015 to be closer to my family.

When I'm not teaching I enjoy being involved in various other activities. I enjoy riding my bike, reading, hanging out with family, friends, my cat Joiya and my dog Ordei, gardening, and sleeping. I am blessed to have 2 nephews here in the valley and I have a great time hanging out with them.

I am looking forward to my eighth year here at Immanuel Lutheran School in first grade. I pray that we all will have a great year growing and learning together.

Ms. Dobbs - First Grade

annmarieI am so excited to be teaching first grade at Immanuel Lutheran. This will be my 34th year in the teaching profession and I absolutely love what I do. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montana Western. Before landing at Immanuel Lutheran, I spent 33 years shaping young minds in the Twin Falls School District. First graders are my favorite! Witnessing their lightbulb moments and seeing them grow academically and personally is incredibly rewarding. I love the fact that first graders are unapologetically themselves, so I know my days will always include lots of laughter. Joining this school fills me with enthusiasm, and I’m eagerly looking forward to a wonderful school year ahead.

Mrs. Gibson - Music/Library/Technology

laurelI am so happy to be in my second year of teaching music here at Immanuel Lutheran School. Music has always been an important part of my life. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share the gift of music with your children.

In addition to teaching general music, I also coordinate music for Chapel each week and lead the Praise Team. Comprised of third, fourth, and fifth graders, this group leads worship during our morning Chapel. It is truly an honor for me to help them grow in their relationship with God as they learn how to worship Him in song. I also organize and prepare students for our annual Christmas and Easter programs.

I was born and raised in the Magic Valley and I have lived here for most of my adult life. I am a graduate of Idaho State University. My husband David is also an elementary music teacher in Twin Falls. We have been married for 27 years and have two grown daughters. Our oldest daughter graduated from ISU last spring and is in her first year of teaching in Twin Falls. Our youngest daughter is a junior at ISU majoring in secondary education. Teaching really is our family business.

I’m married to my husband Jeramy and together we have 5 boys, 4 of which currently attend Immanuel School. I am finishing up my AA in Early Childhood Education at CSI and will be graduating in May 2023!

I have been at Immanuel since December 2020. Before coming to Immanuel, I was an assistant child care director, and I taught preschool for 2 years. I truly love this job and look forward to playing with the kids and laughing with them every day!

When I’m not working, you can find me crafting in my studio at home, kayaking, or watching my boys play football, baseball or basketball.

I am excited to make positive changes to recess this year and have fun with the kids. Thank you for your support!
