Mrs. Lawson - Physical Education

I was raised on a cattle ranch in Northern Nevada (Winnemucca)loridogs

After highschool I attended Business college in Reno.
My husband, Lary, and I own a small farm outside the Kimberly/Hansen area, with 2 dogs, Hank and Annie, and 2 horses,Gracie and Vinnie.

Our sons, Blake and Clint attended Kimberly schools, where I also worked in the SPED. After my years at Kimberly I was the school secretary at Wings Charter School for a school year. Shortly after that, 6 years ago,  I was given the wonderful opportunity to join the staff at ILS, this is my 5th year teaching PE.

Besides enjoying spending my day with the ILS kids in PE, I enjoy horseback riding, snow skiing, kayaking, gardening, spending time with my family, camping with my husband (and 2 dogs)and loving Jesus! ðŸ˜Š

Mrs. Gibson - Music/Library/Technology

laurelI am so happy to be in my second year of teaching music here at Immanuel Lutheran School. Music has always been an important part of my life. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share the gift of music with your children.

In addition to teaching general music, I also coordinate music for Chapel each week and lead the Praise Team. Comprised of third, fourth, and fifth graders, this group leads worship during our morning Chapel. It is truly an honor for me to help them grow in their relationship with God as they learn how to worship Him in song. I also organize and prepare students for our annual Christmas and Easter programs.

I was born and raised in the Magic Valley and I have lived here for most of my adult life. I am a graduate of Idaho State University. My husband David is also an elementary music teacher in Twin Falls. We have been married for 27 years and have two grown daughters. Our oldest daughter graduated from ISU last spring and is in her first year of teaching in Twin Falls. Our youngest daughter is a junior at ISU majoring in secondary education. Teaching really is our family business.

I absolutely love music and I am excited to be a part of helping our students learn and grow!

Mrs. Hunter - Recess Duty Supervisor

jennaI grew up in Arizona and moved in 2008 to attend college at EOU in La Grande, Oregon. Since then, Ive also lived in Washington and am now planting my roots here in Idaho. I’m married to my husband Jeramy and together we have 5 boys, 4 of which currently attend Immanuel School. I am finishing up my AA in Early Childhood Education at CSI and will be graduating in May 2023!

I have been at Immanuel since December 2020. Before coming to Immanuel, I was an assistant child care director, and I taught preschool for 2 years. During this time I also taught elementary music which I loved! Coming to Immanuel, I started out teaching at the CDC for 2 years and made the switch to the school to be the recess teacher this year! Although it’s been a change from the classroom setting, I am so blessed to be able to form relationships with 170+ students at recess and spend more time with my family at home. I truly love this job and look forward to playing with the kids and laughing with them every day!

When I’m not working, you can find me crafting in my studio at home, kayaking, or watching my boys play football, baseball or basketball.

I am excited to make positive changes to recess this year and have fun with the kids. Thank you for your support!
