christaChrista Gullidge comes to us from Ascension Lutheran School in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she taught preschool and prekindergarten. She is a Concordia University, Portland graduate (2011 and 2014). She is excited to accept the call to teach at Immanuel and looks forward to getting to know the staff and students more as the year goes on. She and her husband moved to Idaho this past June so that he could begin his ministry as the Pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jerome. Together they have one daughter and another child coming this Spring.

chapelChapel will be held every Wednesday; we alternate the times, so our half day students can participate.
Morning chapels begin at 8:50 AM and afternoon chapels at 12:50 PM in the sanctuary at the church. This year, Pastor Sedlmayr along with one of our classes will lead us in chapel.

Every Monday your child will receive an envelope for chapel offerings.  The funds collected will go to various organizations/mission projects.  Second quarter offerings will be going to the Uganda Choir who will be performing at our school on February 15th.

Renaissance Home Connect improves the school-to-home connection by allowing parents and students to log in to a website and view the student’s reading practice and progress towards goals. Access to online results promotes discussion between parents and students, which motivates students and can make reading and math practice even more effective. In addition, parents can specify up to six email addresses to receive automatic updates on their student’s reading progress.

Here is a short video that explains the more about Home Connect:

NOTE:  If you have questons or need the information to set up your account, please contact Darlena Ohlensehlen at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

We appreciate your involvement in y our student's reading.  At Immanuel Lutheran School students are administered the STAR EARLY LITERACY test in grades Kindergarten - Grade One.  Students in Grades 3 - 5 take the STAR READING test as well as the STAR MATH test.  These assessments are used for identifyng the approximate reading level of the student as well as a measure of growth on the subsequent tests.

Students use the Accelerated Reading program for accountable reading practice.  As a parent, you can create a Renaissance "Parent Account" so that you can monitor and encourage your student's progress toward meeting their reading goals as well as see their assessment scores.

To create an account you will need to go to the Immanuel Lutheran School Renaissance website:  You can also find the link on the Immanuel Lutheran School website under the "Just for Students" tab on the far right.  (

You will click on the "I am a Parent" link.  In the lower right of the next screen you will see a link to "Request Parent/Guardian Access".

You will then get a screen where you add your information.  Complete your information and click SAVE.  You will receive an email with your username and password.
