Ms. Schmidt - First Grade
I'm very excited to be a part of the ILS family as one of the First Grade teachers for the 2022 -2023 school year.
I am originally from Buhl. I attended school at Clover Trinity Lutheran School and then moved to Buhl High School where I graduated from. I attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska where I received my BS in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I took my first call to teach at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Child Development Center in Mountain View, California were I taught both preschool and kindergarten. I later took a call to serve at Littlest Angels Preschool and Bethany Lutheran Church in Menlo Park, California where I taught pre-kindergarten as well as served in many other ministries within the church. I returned to the Magic Valley in 2015 to be closer to my family.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy being involved in various other activities. I enjoy riding my bike, reading, hanging out with family, friends, my cat Joiya and my dog Ordei, gardening, and sleeping. I am blessed to have 2 nephews here in the valley and I have a great time hanging out with them.
I am looking forward to my eighth year here at Immanuel Lutheran School in first grade. I pray that we all will have a great year growing and learning together.

Mrs. Buscher - Second Grade
My name is Kaitlyn Buscher. I am 21 years old and just got married in July of 2022! I currently live in Twin Falls. I am a second grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School with this being my second year of teaching! My mission is to create lifelong learners and Disciples of Christ, so that when they are no longer in my classroom, they have the skills they need to learn and the knowledge and love of Christ to carry on with them. I’m so blessed to be able to teach at Immanuel and am truly grateful for the family I have here in this loving, Christian environment.
Mrs. Rhoades - Second Grade / Reading Specialist
Hello! My name is Mrs. Rhoades, and this is my 6th year of teaching! In the past, I have taught 3 years of 2nd grade and 2 years of reading intervention. I love all aspects of teaching, but my favorite part is teaching the foundations of reading and helping my students develop the reading skills needed to become successful readers!
I have a beautiful, little family that includes my husband, sweet one year old daughter, Kynnlee, and our two dogs, Maxwell and Trigger. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, hanging out at home, or visiting our family in the Boise area.

Mrs. Carlson - Fifth Grade
I am overjoyed and thankful to be able to teach fifth grade at Immanuel. God has called us into various vocations- He has called me to teach.
I was born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, a town similar to Twin Falls, with two younger sisters. My husband and I moved to Twin Falls 9 years ago. We have three amazing boys which all attended Immanuel.
This is my eighth year teaching at Immanuel and I love it! ILS has a positive family atmosphere that allows students to grow academically, emotionally and spiritually. It is a blessing to use God's Word as our guide and witness the light of Christ in our students.
I am passionate about education and love witnessing the growth of each child. The school year will be exciting, entertaining and full of learning.
