Mrs. Lawson - Physical Education
I was raised on a cattle ranch in Northern Nevada (Winnemucca)
Our sons, Blake and Clint attended Kimberly schools, where I also worked in the SPED. After my years at Kimberly I was the school secretary at Wings Charter School for a school year. Shortly after that, 6 years ago, I was given the wonderful opportunity to join the staff at ILS, this is my 5th year teaching PE.
I am delighted to share my passion for music, library sciences, and technology with the students at Immanuel Lutheran School. This is my tenth year at ILS and I am grateful for the opportunity to inspire creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking across all three of my content areas. I especially enjoy nurturing students’ confidence and encouraging them to grow in their relationships with God.
Born and raised in the Magic Valley, I have spent most of my life here. I am a proud graduate of Idaho State University. Teaching runs in my family- my husband and both of our grown daughters are educators as well. Education truly is our family’s passion. When I’m not at school, I enjoy hiking, gardening, writing, losing myself in a good book, making memories with my grandsons, and going to concerts.
I am excited for another wonderful school year together!
Mrs. Rhoades - Reading Specialist
My name is Katelynn Rhoades, and I am thrilled to be teaching my third year at Immanuel Lutheran School!
I grew up in a small town called Fruitland, Idaho. After high school, I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with my bachelor's in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Language Arts. In 2017, I married my husband and moved to Twin Falls. This will be my 8th year of teaching. In the past, I have taught 3 years of 2nd grade and 4 years of reading intervention. I absolutely love teaching, but I especially enjoy teaching the foundations of reading and helping my students achieve the skills needed to become a successful reader. I also strive to make learning fun and develop a desire in my students to become lifelong learners!
My husband and I have two beautiful daughters, Kynnlee and Kami. We also have two dogs, Maxwell and Trigger. When I am not teaching, I am home with my girls learning, exploring, and enjoying each other. Our family also enjoys spending time outdoors and visiting our family in the Boise area.
God has blessed me with a beautiful life, and I can't wait to see what he has planned for this upcoming school year!
